Birth Details Jack was delivered by Caesarian section by a wonderful OB, Dr. Michael Lu. The birth went really well--Lisa was awake for it and heard Jack's first cries, and Scott got to hold him immediately after birth. Though recovering from a c-section was anything but fun, the hospital stay was made as pleasant as possible by a nice private room (with great food!) and a great nursing staff. One of our night nurses, Suzamma, was a true "baby whisperer". She got Jack to stop fussing when no one else could by building an intricate tent of warm blankets for him in his bassinet. We were lucky to have Lisa's mom with us the entire hospital stay as well, helping us with the baby (UCLA has a total rooming in policy) and providing love and support. A few minutes after birth!
